Saw this Steve Rex today and it screamed Paceline to me.
Stainless steel Bi-lam with Bruce Gordon esque "lugs"-Campy SR 11-Pacenti Wheels-King Cages-Merckx esque paint scheme.
Only thing unpaceline are the lack of Dave Kirk brass cable stops.
Who is it? If not, nice bike stranger!
Crappy pic-I was late.

PS-I was the guy with the rainbow landshark around 9 am.

Another hint that it may be one of us is the size of the frame. ;)

If it were a Paceliner, they would have insisted on drive side photos only.

Steve Rex is a framebuilder. Just because a bike bears someone's first and last name doesn't mean it's that guy riding the bike.

that's funny, often times, that's the first thing that goes through my mind when i see someone on a custom handmade bike - "i wonder if they are on the forum".
funny stuff. it would not surprise me to find the owner of that one chime in here at all.

He has a website. Steve Rex, that is. It's kindof stalker-ish, but you could just email the guy and ask him.

I had to read the responses a few times before I got it.
Whoosh!
In all seriousness, the amount of praise Rex, pacenti, campy, king and stainless steel get around here I thought it might be one of yall. Turns out people outside the forum also have good taste.

Steve Rex isn't tall enough to ride a bike with a HT that long.

I like the Merckx-ish paint job.
Steve Rex really makes a nice bike.
I love the fact that that he is a low key but prolific frame builder.
He lets his work speak for itself.

This is actually true though, awhile back I was riding my Kelly and a guy asked me if that was my name on the DT.

Name of builder is not always on downtube.
One of my favorite shop stories was about a mechanic looking over an aluminum Simonetti.
The mechanic said "I wouldn't put my name on the downtube either if I welded like that."
