so when we run out of 9 speed rear derailleurs we 10 speeders can move to this:

emailed Microshift about their 10sp mtn thumb shifters (yeah, I'm WAY olde schoole) and was directed to QBP.

...so pretty much any LBS with a QBP account can order you up some shifters that'll work. If you get some Paul's Thumbie mounts, you're golden.

The key thing here is compatibility with Shimano's 10 speed clutch derailleurs. You could pair these with a short cage Zee rear derailleur and a narrow-wide chainring for a lower-cost SRAM CX1 alternative.

Microshift announced the 10 speed MTB thumbies and bar-end shifters at Interbike. Unfortunately they're nowhere to be found, except on the Gevenalle levers and stock on the 2015 Long Haul Trucker:

I fantasize about converting these to downtube use and having a 1x10, clutch derailleur, downtube shifter road bike.

@Gummee thanks for the note on the thumb shifters.

Both thumb shifters and the Gevenalle integrated offering seem like a great choice for an adventure bike.

The hydraulic brakes with a 10spd zee RD could make for a pretty cool setup.

I would have seriously considered a 10spd thumbie on my stumpjumper had it been available when I built it.
