I'm thinking of swapping out the discs on my Volagio Liscio to standard rim caliper brakes. The front will work fine with a standard Rival brake (the bike has Sram 10 speed). The rear is supposed to fit medium reach but the Tektro 539 still doesn't reach the brake track properly. I'm sure the 559 Long brakes will. I'm wondering how the feel and performance is using the longer caliper with a Sram Force shifter. I'm 5' 7", 140ish.

I've had the bike since May 2012, like the discs, but they are slower on descents and want to mix things up a bit.

I use 559s with Ultegra levers and they work great! Nice brakes.

They work fine. Don't expect Dura Ace level performance, but the 559s will stop you OK.

I've had 559's and was not satisfied with the braking. Most long reach calipers have been less-than-stellar for my riding that can see a bit of traffic and hard stops.

However, the better options, TRP and Velo Orange, are both sold through a pair. Careful cable/housing and new koolstops should help out either way.
