Need to pick up some 32 counts of DB black 292mm and 293mm spokes (pref. DT Comp); what have been some good sources? So far wheelbuilder.com and universal cycles have looked the best, price wise.

I get all my spokes at http://www.bikehubstore.com/

good prices, ships fast and great customer service. They do custom lengths as well.

Not sure if Dans has black, but they are the cheapest spoke source I know of.

Excelsports used to be decent on individual DTs but I haven't checked lately.

I might have some Ritchey (DT made I think) black 14/15 in the lengths you need. Will have to check.

Dan's Comp has black, and nipples are included in their cheap prices! You have to call to order, which is pretty easy. While you're on the phone, request that they don't send you catalogs.

If you have a woodburner, catalogs are free BTUs.

They are my preference, along with Laser. But when in the shop, a distributor only had even lengths and altho not a huge deal, I'm kinda anal about that..DT are great as well.

I think Cx-Ray are kinda hyped, and expensive but ala Aerolights by DT.

The only issue I have had are with Wheelsmith. Some, when tensioning, gave up their ghost..in that became slack and stretchy, so adding tension, made wheel/rim move in opposite direction. Had about 6 do this..2mm/1.7mm type. Thought they moved to Bozeman, MT., but see the factory is in Milwaukee.

I have used sapim race predominantly on all my wheel builds and have yet to have any issues. Just make sure to stress relieve the spokes during the build and check them after the shakedown ride.
