This sucks. I spent my 20's and 30's watching him. He was my favorite. The embedded video in the article is worth watching.

I knew he had been really trending down hill these last couple of months. Condolences to his family

Stuart, you'll always be "as cool as the other side of the pillow"

Wow, this is terrible news. I did not know he was fighting cancer.

He was my favorite on ESPN by a long shot.

RIP.

I loved this dude on ESPN. Clearly my favorite anchor. He seemed like a great father to his two girls too. Sportscenter will never be the same. RIP Stuart.

He kind of changed how the talking heads on ESPN do things. RIP Stuart. You are missed.

Tar Heel Nation lost a good one.

Met him once or twice when he came back to campus. Really good dude.

Don't think ESPN would be as much of a cultural influence without his style, and the doors he opened for others at ESPN. Look at the first generation of anchors. Now look at the diversity today. He paved the way, I think.

Very sad news, indeed. I'm not a huge ESPN fan, but he was one of their anchors that I always appreciated and enjoyed watching. He will be missed by many, no doubt.

In case you haven't seen his acceptance speech for the Jimmy V award at the 2014 ESPYS, it's well worth a watch.

Thanks for the link. He was definitely above so many former athletes and coaches who moved on to broadcasting. There are too many seniors still acting like stupid teen boys.

I grew up watching him give his take on sports. RIP. What a loss for sports broadcasting.

That's terrible news. Stuart Scott was the greatest. Ever. I loved his humor and his one-liners. There won't be another like him. He will be missed.

Really gonna miss the dude on SportsCenter. If you think about it, SC has had some really top end talent throughout the years. Olberman, Scott, SVP, John Anderson just to name a few.

+1 for "Well said." I was a big fan, too. Cancer sure is a SOB.
