Anyone else do the traditional end of the year sandwich? As in ride the last day, ride the first day. Bagged it today with a glorious ride on the plateau, nothing but blue overhead, lots of snow on the ground, patches of ice and snow from time to time on the road, Mont Blanc proud in the distance, a wonderful ride, out and back. I love kicking off the new year with a ride like today. Cheers

Italian Beef? Great hangover cure. With Giardiniera.

Send me one, please. (transplanted Chicagoan.)

Ambient temp 14° F with wind speeds 15-25 mph yesterday. Ever so slightly nicer today.

So… nope.

Unless a rollers sandwich counts.

I'm craving Mr. Beef but pretty sure it's closed. Portillo's however is open I believe...

Sorry for the thread drift. :-)

Is a quesadilla close enough?

No rides for me....yesterday's high was -4°F and right now it's all of 2°. I have some studded tires on the way so once they arrive we'll see how tough I can be....

I rode both days, out early while my wife and our cat carried on sleeping, and back way before they woke up.

Yesterday was perfect, I think I saw less than a dozen cars. Everybody was sleeping off NYE I think

I did a nice 33 mile tempo ride yesterday and then a 50 mile ride today that felt like a road race. So much for the off season.

Did a reverse sandwich - didn't ride on either day...

It's been rainy and hasn't made it out of the 30s for the last two days here. A nice Torta Cubana and a warm cup of coffee sounds good about now.

Happy New Year to everyone!

How about an ice cream sandwich?

9 miles last night at 12 degrees F (pretty when nobody is out)
22 miles today at 28 degrees F (a few cyclists and hikers)

10 miles of single track yesterday on the mountain bike with 2 good friends. 30 miles of dirt roads on cross bikes with my wife today. Tomorrow, hopefully another 60-70 miles solo on the road bike.

Never thought of it that way, but got in short MTB rides (~10 miles) on trails with our dog both yesterday and today. I'll be sad when the snow comes...wish I could afford a fat bike.

I gotta move where it doesn't suck to ride after work. I miss Ithaca, even in winter!
