a good friend left his stressful good paying teaching job for a less paying machinist/computer job. his commute went from 45 minutes by car to 15 minutes by bike in eastern Connecticut.

in celebration of his new found poverty im putting together this Miyata Country Runner for him. more pictures to follow...

Looks like a nice project, let me know if you need any bits.

I've been looking for a Miyata of some sort for a while but can't seem to find a worthy subject. Liking this one, but it's too small, too far away, too expensive:

original bb spindle and cups had minor pitting and as luck would have it, i had an identical complete bb on the floor in great shape...a 3S spindle length for the tech heads

i put a Tektro mini v brake in back. one of the front canti studs is mushrooming and preventing the caliper from moving-will take some sand paper to it tomorrow

i hope the bar and stem is high enough for his 6'2" body

I used to have a Miyata back about 25 years ago now...didn't cost much and I also had a Pinarello which cost quite abit then...I loved that Miyata...they made some decent frames actually...

Nice to have a good buddy to do that… But, a real buddy would have shared the riding experience:

I jest, nice job and good karma
