FYI: My Di2 RD 6700 , 2012 model,,was defect and replaced by Shimano under warranty. Last six months I thought my battery was low due shifting in RD ,,,then I bought another battery,,same problem. FD was fine. Bike shop had a computer to hook up the Di2 system,,found the problem with RD.......

No onboard diagnostics but if ya got a laptop and e-wire-you can trouble shoot last gen Di2. 3 year warranty, good for shimano-

That was one of the big advances with E-tube, consumer diagnostics. With 7970 you had three choices if you suspected a problem. Buy a $300 diagnostic box, find a shop that had a $300 diagnostic box, or send it to Shimano USA and have them check it on their diagnostic box. Now you have everything you need when you buy the battery charger and install a free download.
