That was obvious from his ride in Louisville especially seeing his confidence in the last straight section as he tore his number from his skinsuit and crossed the line holding it up in jubilation.

#1.

MvdP & Wout- the future is now. I predict Wout will be the new sven and MvdP will be the new Niels.

I caught recap of Saturday and watched most of Sunday...

Its great seeing races where the results are different week to week...

Even that Sweeck lad had some fire in the legs this past...

VDP's are destined for some greatness if not already found some...

Hup! Hup!

BTW..I think Muessen is clicking nicely @ just the right time..

MvDP is killing it, I was nodding off a bit for Sundays race and next thing I know Sweeck was up in the top 3. I haven't been following the in's and out's of euro cross much this season, but where is LvDH?

I hate to be like this but I did notice that the results have gotten very screwy since the report that 19 Belgian cyclists (mostly crossers) were being investigated for blood doping. Sven's slump started the same week that report came out.

I'm glad to see new faces cracking the top 10 in the big cross races.

There was also a severe lack of the usual heavy hitters this weekend. No Pauwels, vanderharder, Vantornout

Van der Poel beat Pauwels at Waasland.

It's traditionally a light week as some of the heavy hitters take it easy before the Kersteperiode, and opportunists come out looking to bag results.

Results haven't been screwy IMO. It just seems like a few things are happening all at once, and that's making it really exciting.

We have three bright youngsters (VDP, Wout, and Sweeck) that have graduated to the elite level, just like Van der Haar did last year (and the way other heavy-hitters have in the past). We have the mainstays (Sven, Pauwels, Vantornout) minus Albert and Stybar which makes some more room at the top (plus Sven's slump). And we've got guys who have proven themselves capable if inconsistent, like Tom Meeusen and Phillip Walsleben. plus Mourey, who lurks heavily in races he starts (he's complained that he can't get contracts for SP and bpbt races).
