My brother is getting married in Clinton, NY, in June and I am looking into heading out there a bit early with my bike to do a little exploring...
It is awfully close to Saratoga...
Any of you guys know a convenient hotel in the Saratoga area? Nothing posh - just a place with a shower, bed, and that will let me keep my bike in the hotel room...

When traveling from California, 2 hours by car counts as "awfully close"

The infamous Bates Motel , call up the good folks at the Springs Motel on the main strip and 5 minutes from the plant :)

I've been going every summer for the last several years - We go to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) to see the NYC Ballet and the Lake George Opera Company at their summer home... Which is almost literally across the street from the factory. (I may have not made it to an open house, but Ben and I talked about opera when we rode together in Boston!)
I really like this place (http://www.rooseveltsuites.com/default.htm), but it may be fancier than you need - The pool and exercise room are very nice, the rates are reasonable, and it's convenient to the factory. But you can probably find any number of comfortable, inexpensive places on Route 9 if you're going to be there before the horse people arrive.

June is before the invasion of the horse people, so finding a room should be easy. If you don't find what you are looking for in Saratoga look to the South in the Albany area. There are a bunch of chains in the Latham and Colonie area (it's where the Albany airport is) and it's right by the main hwy up to Saratoga (I87).

"Invasion of the Horse People..."
That sounds a little frightening in a "Lord of The Rings" sort of way.
