I need to transfer 215EUR ($about $270) to a bank account in Germany for a purchase I'm making. The seller emailed his IBAN and SWIFT-BIC numbers, which seem to be his bank account.

I'm having trouble finding a service that will deal with such a small transfer (most are $1000 min) and not charge a big fee (over $30). I thought XE.com might be the answer but they want to put me through a complicated verification process first. Seller doesn't have a PayPal account and doesn't speak english.

This must be a fairly common transaction with bicycle parts. Anyone have a recommendation how to accomplish it? Thanks guys.

My credit union charges $60 plus a currency transaction spread. I'd like to do better if possible.

Don't mislead the OP whom has stated a goal of getting a reduced cost int'l wire transfer. JPMChase won't do this unless you have an account. And even for most JPMChase account holders, int'l outgoing transfers are not free of charge.

I doubt you get your wires for free either unless you are Private Client. Does the OP sound like a Private Client customer to you?

OP: find an Internet based FX concern that will take walk ins (log ins?). They all are in the same ballpark as far as fees and as retail services go, it is a specialized service so there is no incentive to discount on the fee.

Or simply eat it and go through your credit union, it may not be worth the hassle to save $20.
