Hello All,

Any suggestions where I can locate a beach cruiser or townie bike to use when I ride with my kids? I recall Merlin offered something but I can't locate anything on their web site.

Thanks

The KREB Cycle down in Bellport Village. The owner Chris has a bunch in stock and is a super nice guy. Best LBS in the area IMHO.

why do you need to spend a grand plus on a beach cruiser to ride with your kids? If you really need to go first class buy an Electra at around 350 bucks.

Fred (Carl Hart) doesn't have any??

Bike Planet is not to far either. I know for a fact that Byron Lake Schwinn has them.

Are you thinking of the Newsboy from Merlin?

I'll second Chris. Cool guy and does what he can to support local racing.

http://www.kronancycle.com - I have a 3spd with nexus hub and love it. bulletproof. comes with fenders, racks, lights, pump, license plate, etc. Think Dutch commuter even though it is from Sweden. Every possible part is powder coated and thus there is virtually nothing to rust. I commuted to the train for 2 yrs on it through rain and snow without worry. Still no signs of abuse. It now has a kids dragger on the back and I rickshaw the children everywhere in it. They'll ship it to you.

If you have the $$$ - http://www.antbikemike.com/

www.broadwaybicycleschool.com has reconditioned rigs that are nice as well as others.

Others will chime in with the thousands of other options.

My friend bought a "Pub" cruiser bike for about $400 last spring; it actually has a bottle opener on the down tube. It's colored creamy brown just like Guinness Stout. It looks kind of cool!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my Electra. It's my cruise to work and back (~2 miles each way) everyday, and I love every minute of it

Looks interesting--do they come in more than one size?
