Early Sunday morning...and, with enough $$$ you can do just about anything. We shut down lanes, roads, etc all the time when we film. LA is very "Film Friendly" that way...(but, usually just on weekends).

Same way it's done for a movie —> $$$$ and lots of it :)

neat! anyone know what the second shift knob/stick is
9square handle)? possibly a hand activated brake or differential split to achieve slipping around turns.

The handle is for the rear brakes only. It helps turn the car in the tight turns.

Described here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKBICDja6Sg) for the gearheads. Lever is described about 4:20 in. I like the bit at 5:42.

Such a cool film. Heard several radio interviews with Mr. Block after and during its production. Cool stuff.

Sabine kicking Jeremy Clarksons behind in a Transit must be one of the greatest moments in motorsports history :D a 10 min lap on the "Ring" - it took Carraciola and Rosemeyer a Silberpfeil and 500hp to break that barrier.
(But then, a Nissan GTR can do a lap time that would have gotten it a pole in the '76 GP)

Also cool: Walter Röhrl testing a Porsche powered VW bus - can't find the video atm
