Q: How do you identify a vegan at a party?
A: Don't worry they'll tell you.

How do you find the omnivore in threads like this?
A: They repeat jokes we've already heard a few hundred times.

pretty amusing as ex and two out of three kids are vegetarian, and of course all think my bike riding etc is too much.

I have tons of respect for vegans.

I'm a vegetarian, and it's super-easy. Being a vegan is way more difficult, because to do it right you have to avoid so many products that clearly don't have meat but could have by-products like milk, eggs or cheese. I don't buy any of that stuff, but when I'm in a restaurant or at someone's house I don't quiz them about the exact provenance of every single item on the menu.

It's a principle worth following, and up to each person to decide just how far they want to take it.

Yup. I eat very few things 'with a face', try to minimize. Essentially no beef or pork. Some fish, chicken, turkey, not a lot. All things in moderation.

If you can't say anything clever or original, make fun of someone else - that's always good for a few yucks, whether you're in 5th grade or at a cocktail party.

+1. I eat vegan at home and try to when eating out, but don't get crazy about it.

Why don't cannibals eat clowns ?
