I like "winners" as much as the next guy,
but how about 3 cheers for Alessandro Ballan!

He didn't hang on Boonen's wheel, he worked
with him all the way, and the two of them
destroyed the field. There is no shame in
getting pipped by a couple of seconds at the
line.

I think a great 2nd place performance gets too
easily forgotten. Ballan has class.

Boonen is pretty turbo fast now....but so is Landis, and Basso, and Oscar Freir just won races too so it would seem that a lot of guys are fit, or on their way.

it's the alloy 177.5 cranks with square taper, they put his mojo above the others (carbon cranks dramatically decrease Mojo unless they're THM).

it has nothing to do with training, confidence, support, team-work or work ethic.

those square taper cranks are why he has trouble staying in the 11 under torque!
