Any recommendations.

Standard reach and happy to pay a bit more for good quality.

Cheers

Hard to beat Dura Ace from the 10 speed era onward. Did they start with 6800? I like having the brake release on the caliper. If you pair them with Campy brifters that have releases on the levers you have double room for fat tires.

Pretty much any Campy 10s...from Veloce to Record and then Veloce to Chorus in the skeleton era....Centaur and above have pad holders.

I've got some nice Chorus non-skeletons spare if you're looking.

I had a similar issue when looking for something to match my Klein. 7700 was more of a muted silver and 7800 is more grey than silver. I actually found some very nice Tektro brakes that had the high-polish silver I was looking for. Looked better than the old 7700s on the build, and performed just as well with upgraded pads.

I think I am missing something!?

Why not any 5+ year old Shimano or Campy brake depending on which way you swing? If you don't need lots of clearance, either of these will work, right?

For aesthetics you can't beat silver Campy brakes. I have everything from Daytona to Chorus to Record on my bikes and all are wonderful. Some just a little heavier than others.

Yep. My 6500s still look good and polished after (12?) years. And as mentioned above, mix nicely with Campy levers for a double quick release, nice for fatter tires. With the pads in the bottom of the slots they easily clear real 28mm tires with plenty of daylight to spare. I see no reason to upgrade calipers, they haven't changed much since double pivots.

I am running Campy so I will have look out for some silver ones. Most group sets seem to be black these days. No shimano for me and they are not really a shiny silver. I have seen the tektro and they are an option.

Thanks

Sram Red calipers are pretty, silver, shiny, and work well. Probably the best part of the whole gruppo.

if you want the best looking Brakes in silver ever...ask on the forum about buying some campy mono's! they don't brake very well really compared to say dura......but you will look awesome and stylin'...even under that garbage truck...great brakes actually...

I like Campagnolo on my classic Italian bikes.

On my classic Japanese bikes shinny silver and dual pivot, use Shimano DuraAce BR-7403 SLR-S, relatively heavy however stiff with great modulation.
