when i was in minnesota eight years ago, i got to visit the factory and purchase a couple of pairs of wheels. got to meet him briefly and get a photo. the place had a very friendly and warm atmosphere. very sad to hear.

Well, very sorry to hear this. A very clever person, giving us the best of reasons to buy a product: it works great! We have three sets of Hed wheels.

Whoa! What happened? This is such sad and tragic news. And on the eve of Thansgiving too. I clicked on the link above and saw the pictures of his kids and family. Life just seems so unfair sometimes.

Sounds like it was some sort of cardiac event, collapsed suddenly at work according to what has been on the web.
