I'm really happy to see Bike Friday's Kickstarter campaign for their new cargo bike going so well. They raised their initial goal of $45,000 in just the first 28 hours of the 30-day campaign. They are currently at ~$72,000, passing their first stretch goal of $65,000 and heading toward their super-stretch goal of $120,000. These are really good folks at an excellent company.
Oh, and the bike looks fantastic, and the pricing is, in my opinion, very good. The original was designed for a friend of mine (Shane - that is his, with his kids on it, below) and I have seen it in person (although I haven't had the chance to ride one yet. Two of my favorite features - for a cargo bike - is that it can fit on your standard auto (or transit) bike rack just by quickly shortening the adjustable frame and turning the front wheel backwards, and that it will stand up on its own on its rear end for storage.
Take a look . . . who knows, maybe a few of us can help them further along toward meeting their super-stretch goal (discounts on the first deliveries of framesets and full bikes are available through this campaign!).
