When applying frame saver (e.g. JP Weigle) is it necessary to first remove the bottom bracket and headset et.c.?

Thanks, Jason.

I am sure Craig is right. I have never not removed headsets over the years but I do remove the BB.

As a side note you can use CRC heavy duty corrosion inhibitor if you are doing it often as it is about half the price.

Might not be possible to get it into the downtube w/o removing plus BB and HS bearings aren't going to like being sprayed with frame saver..best to strip frame, apply, well venilated area, let dry. Don't let it sit on paint.

Always you can drop some machinist oil inside the tubing, will have almost the same effect.

Seems like the job goes a lot easier & faster with the hs & bb removed. Along with a well ventilated area I would suggest some plastic on the ground for the framesaver that drips out from the frame.

I use linseed oil, but all the above advice re: removing HS and BB, plus plastic on the floor applies.
