got him to tell me some stories about his time in the USN (1942-46). he was on an LST in the Pacific.

even tho he has pretty severe dementia, when he's talking about his time in the service over 70 years ago, his memory seems really vivid.

I thanked my Dad for his service this morning. Korean Conflict (War) veteran USMC 1950-1956. At 82 years old, he's just as motivated and hard charging as anyone that I've ever met. According to him, the Corps was instrumental in showing him that nothing was impossible when training, focus and dedication were aligned and put to proper use.
