I love tan walls on bikes I have them on my Paramount 50th and I am really thinking about putting some on my Enve 6.7's. Is anyone using some tan walls on modern deeper wheels. I would love to see pics.
The bike is a Pegoretti Responsorium Goze paint

Good thing we ride the same size
I regret selling the Peg but it won't be my last. I picked up a Hampsten at Steve's last garage sale. Very similar geo to Dario's, including thick chain stays. So it's kind of a Hamp-aretti.

All my road bikes have tan tires. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Does anyone seal the sidewalls on their road tires? I had a set of grand bois for less than 200 miles and the sidewalls got dirty so fast and that was without any roadside flat repairs.

I agree. It breaks up the massive amount of black you'd have it you didn't have a contrasting color on the sidewall.
I'm now waiting to see a SpeedBlend tire on a wide aero rim.

I had a set of grand bois for less than 200 miles and the sidewalls got dirty so fast and that was without any roadside flat repairs. It depends on the tire/manufacturer. The FMBs and Dugasts come sealed (the FMBs better so than the Dugasts), but the sealant wears off, so they need to be re-sealed periodically with Aqualseal, McNett's Tent Sealant, etc. The sidewalls still get dirty, and the sealant yellows as it ages. Personally, I haven't bought a skinwall tire in years. I think the Vittoria sidewalls (on the SCs?) are coated with something that doesn't discolor as easily, but I don't have first-hand experience.

Where is the bar tape?
Whoa, yes, and where are the bar end caps? They're not just for show. End caps keep steel and aluminum bars from punching a hole in you during a crash. Dunno about carbon, but I wouldn't want to find out.
Lovely bike, by the way.

Christian probably took all those pictures from the galleries. That picture was likely a build photo.

Slightly off-topic......
Q: What is the benefit/effect of deep aero wheels on a cross bike? No innuendo here: I'm just not a cross guy, and I'm not sure I 'get it'.
Cheers.

I'm not a cross guy either but I believe a deep rim doesn't collect mud as easily as a low profile rim which is a big plus in a wet muddy cross race.

Aero is faster.
Supposedly sheds mud better.

Please recommend a good tan sidewall road clincher tire! I looked at the Vittoria Corsa SC (think it was SC) tan sidewall but reviews said it was somewhat fragile, so I passed on it. What's good in 700x23 or 700x25 size?
Some amazingly lovely bikes in this thread (those Pegos, wow!)

I think the veloflex master is about as good as a clincher gets and they canbe had for a modest sum. I use them on my nicer wheels. These are avalible in 23 and 25mm but run slightly small.
I've been using clement strada lgg tires on my everyday/gravel wheels. So far, I have been impressed with the ride givin the price point. These are avalible in 25 and 28 and seem to run true to size. Baring any durability issues, they are probably my new go to clincher. The only exception being my delta wearing tommasnini that won't clear a true 25. This bike will continue to run veloflex tires.

I've been riding Grand Bois Cerfs in the 26 width and give them a big thumbs up. We'll see how they hold up over winter.

I've been riding Vittoria SC clinchers for the 6 months year or so and logged many miles on them on ····ty roads and dirt. I've gotten maybe a handful of flats and they ride wonderfully. I've got 25s on Archetypes that I ride around 90psi.
I think "tan side" means the sense of tradition.
I want it on all of my bikes but having hard time to pick one.
It would be a big help if there is any list of tan side wall tires exist in inner web world. Does anyone know?
