View Full Version : Effects of moving wheel in rear dropout

Hey Y'all.........
After a couple "test-rides" on my new Merckx MX Leader..(awesome bike!)..
this bike is absolutely the most "balanced" road bike I've ever owned!

I think a big reason is 'cause the chainstays are longer than on the
62(my new one is a 63)..and therefore the wheelbase is increased.

My question?
If I move the rear-wheels further back in the dropouts...where will this
place my body weight in regards to the current "balance" I have now?
more weight on the front?..or back?

ps...this bike amazes me..it's sooo comfy!....yet drive-train stiffess
is phenomenal!
