Need a road frame as a spare for both training and racing. Don't want to spend more than $600. Whats the best bet for that small amount of $$?

Aside from Ebay, I would try www.gvhbikes.com

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out on ebay. Just haven't found anything in my size that looks decent......Hoping a new 'Dale will show up soon in my size on ebay.

I'm always amazed at the price you can get a specialized s-works aluminum frame. I'm always tempted to pick one up just because I want one. There are a lot of those on ebay both used and new, and I'm sure you could get one for 600 bucks. I can't imagine a better race frame than that for a better price. I'm not sure that is what your looking for, but it is definitely worth a look.

If you're looking for a budget 'dale, you might want to do a web search for Helen's in the LA area--I know some folks have found good deals through them and that they ship things around the country (or at least that they did when my brother bought a frame).

Too bad, I have a seldom used CAAD7 I could be willing to part with....because I seldom use it....56cm.

This may be heresy here, but I'm not too proud to admit that a few years ago while waiting waiting for my Waterford I needed a frame quickly so I got one of these:

$120 Nashbar Al frame (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=130&subcategory=1176&brand=&sku=6064&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=)

Compared to my old noodly steel Trek it was much stiffer and handled much better. As far as value goes, it's tough to beat. I still ride it.

out there for someone willing to spend up to $600 for a road frame. I rarely pay more than that and still find more great frames than I can afford or have room for. Lots of nice lugged Italian steel, plus other makers, can be found on sites like eBay and the iBob and CR lists.

This forum is a great place also if you post a WTB ad and list the size and price range you are looking for.

Hi - have you checked out Top Level or Carb Level frames by Fondriest on eBay? Seems there have been a couple lately in 54. Very nice riding frames.
