the idea that this guy "has to beat the standard of jens voigt" is a joke... until there is a world class time trialist that puts down a record, I have a hard time calling ANY of these hour record attempts a 'standard'.

I'm a pain junkie........but I can't imagine the pain involved in an hour record. That was cool to watch live.

These days the "standards" are changed to make breaking the record easier--all in the name of reviving interest, of course. None of these guys would stand a chance of doing it under the Merckx standard.

Probably because these aren't hour record holders that mean something.

It will be fun to monitor once the top riders go for the record.
