Spotted on my way into the office, leaning against a dorm at Dartmouth College.

um, so much to dislike...

heinous saddle angle

giant spoke reflector

kickstand

oh, and the 'sweet' tape job...

And it could lean against a thousand walls for a thousand years and never need a lock.

It's a student's means of transportation and likely an effort to cover up rust and a boatload of bad paint. Industrious, whimsical and perfect tool for the job no doubt.

I like the bungee cords connecting the rear spokes to the rack. Poor mans bike lock, but might confuse a would be grab and runner when the wheel doesn't spin.

Over under on # of rolls of 60 feet electrical tape? I'll set it at 3.

I thought the same thing, just concluded it's hidden behind the cassette

Hmmmm, things must be going downhill at the "College on the Hill."

The first few years I was there one of these was the most memorable piece of transportation parked behind one of the dorms...

Ratty ass taped up rusty steel bike leaning against a cracked and crumbly brick mortar wall, crumpled up beer can sitting on a neglected pile of slimey leaves and moss.. probably a syringe in there too.

Dartmouth.... The Ivy League's dirty little secret.

Pretty sure it's a 3M lugged frame.

That DT shifter mounting boss looks like the one posted a few days ago on a Nishiki.
