I keep finding this freehub out of stock and only if I want to convert to 11 speed can I find a replacement. Can you fine folks let me know if you have seen one "in stock" somewhere? Thanks

I have no need to go to 11 speed ATM.

Why not convert to 11 speed and use the 10 speed spacer? I don't see why you would buy an obsolete part.

That's likely what I will end up doing but if the freehub is out there somewhere, I'm going to use it first and save a few bucks.

Any money you save now will be lost, and then some, when you sell the wheels as ten speed. It's short sighted.

That's a great point. Part of my hesitation is also that having the 11 speed hub will most likely put me on a mission to build up an 11 speed drive train and that's costly.

Lol. It will be tough. I'm hardheaded.

I have a complete axle with bearings and FH body from a 04/05 KT hub maybe 200 miles as I switched to Campy. Not sure if it is what you need. It is yours for the shipping.

not as costly as you might think...11 speed shimano/sram parts are actually cheaper than (and superior to) their 10 speed counterparts...its a switch that is worth making sooner rather than later as 10 speed stuff is getting harder and harder to sell for decent $...and the cost of replacing a broken 10 speed rd or shifter is actually GREATER than the 11 speed version of that same part...crazy but true.

That was my point, but anyway. I'm keeping the rain bike 10 speed 5700 until I have $500 to go 11 with it.

Looked at a few places..6700 shifter set actually about $100 cheaper than 6800 shifter set..rear der about the same, front der same. BUT

I think the biggest issue is how fast shimano stops making the previous gen 'stuff'. Pretty quick, you kill a 7900 rear der, not gonna find a 7900 one..maybe not even 6700..5700...
