I'm in the market for a new lens to replace the failing one in my left eye. I can choose the standard implanted lens which would be optimized for distance but I'll need glasses for middle and close range like computer work. OR I can go with a variable focus for an extra $2500 out of pocket. Any experience with the more expensive version?

Hi,
Most of my patients still do best with the standard far vision correction. If you have little to no astigmatism, and only moderate near focus demands on your vision, then the bifocal implant (in my opinion) works well.
