I know that the newer gen posts don't fit oversized rails, but I'm wondering if the older style (like this one) do? : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moots-Titanium-Seatpost-27-2-x-400mm-/261632998513?pt=US_Seatposts&hash=item3cea8abc71

i can tell just by looking at the clamp design that the answer is no to oversized rails.

moots remains firmly entrenched in 7x7 land, no trespassing for 7x9 carbon rails

I just had Bill McDonald refinish a PMP ti post in a matte finish, and it looks great. I realize I could've done it myself, but I doubt I could've done anywhere near as good a job.
Because of the clamp design, the PMP post will accommodate carbon rails. Just a thought.
P.S. The cinch post head is about as modern as they come—there are lots of current posts with side clamps that will only accommodate 7mm round rails.

They don't and as a aside, those are a pita to install a saddle onto and as you tighten the fixing bolts, the tilt angle changes. Poor design, imho, the new one is light years better.
