...and had a fantastic time! The food was spectacular, the course was well-marked with lots of volunteers out to guide folks along the traffic-heavy sections, and lots of local framebuilders came out to pitch in and enjoy the day as well. I highly recommend going next year (or the ones in Oregon) -- check out my write-up here (http://blogs.kqed.org/bayareabites/2014/10/20/chris-kings-sonoma-gourmet-century-a-rolling-feast-on-two-wheels/).

damn, that pizza looks good. hard to justify a trip from the east coast to eat pizza and ride a bike... I didn't say impossible, just hard.

Thanks for the write up!

Yeah, I'd make a holiday out of it and have this be the crowning event of the trip! :)

A lot nicer than the metric century I rode today here in MA. It was blustery, barely got over 50 and all I ate was a couple of cliff bars. Definitely picked the wrong ride...

Wait... the cost of that event is only $175???

I'm talking to my wife about doing that next year! Thanks for the insight, that looks like an awesome day.

Yeah, it was a real bargain -- plus we got a free t-shirt, water bottle, snacks at all the stops, a cocktail -- along with a massive amount of food!

The perfect time if year in a perfect place. Thanks for the heads-up. As long as Pad-drag wash't there, no way there could be a negative review.

Got to get there for that ride. I keep hearing how great it is and how Chris often serves some of the food. Sounds like a great time. Glad you had a good time.

I would hate to have to weigh in before and after that ride!

It was a great event. The only century that is better is the Gourmet Century in Portland hosted by the same people, but with the local cuisine and chefs. All other centuries pale in comparison.

Man, bummed I missed it. The Boss was laid up with a stomach bug so I was at home taking care of her. Next year...

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try and do this next year. It might be just the thing to get lady-tumbler out on a longish ride with me.

Looks awesome! I was trying to go, but I couldn't seem to convince any of my friends to get up there. Now I can just direct them to your blog post to get them pumped.

I think they opened registration for this back in April, so I'd follow them on social media to make sure you can sign up in time next spring.

There were 400 spots available, and there may be more next time as this sold out and was very popular!

I can't even compare this to any food I've ever eaten on an organized bike ride. This looks like a whole other level.

Totally missed this when it was originally posted but WOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW.

Looks de-lish and you don't have to suffer an insane distance to enjoy the spread.

Man thats a lot of good looking food. Im curious about the calorie intake/output ratio on that ride. I feel like I would gain weight by going :help:

got a few riding buddies into this and the wives are down for the trip north as well. on a practical note, where do you people stay up there? is santa rosa close enough to use as a base without too much driving the day of? not too much as far as flights into santa rosa either so looks like a road trip......

I'm making it a family trip for the week, ending with the weekend of the gourmet century. We will be staying in the Santa Rosa area, last year stayed in Petaluma. Not too far of a drive, especially on a Saturday morning. Napa is also a possibility, but certainly with more driving to get to the venue.
