Dementia at 61. Really sad and a major loss. Angus got most of the press, but Malcolm was the architect of that band's sound, from day one!

Sad, very young. They were/are a very powerful band live and you're right he set the groove for the band.

Sometimes when I'm on the road and I have a lot of driving to do late at night, I turn to the AC/DC station on satellite radio...better than caffeine.

I like AC/DC but LOVE Marcus Hook Roll Band.

If you haven't heard them check it out. Its Malcolm Young and Angus Youngs first recorded appearance along with their brother George Young.

If any Aussie forum members have a copy of the LP hit me up too....I'll pay big bucks.

Very sad indeed, a guitar legend and huge influence on the Sharpie movement in Australia.

Malcolm was the unsung hero behind the AC/DC drive, hard to substitute for a guy that understood the primal groove that made their sound. Don't think there was ever a band that got more and better mileage outta having an A-chord somewhere in the I-IV-V of their music. A little wistful that AC/DC will soldier on without Malcolm - the band & the brand are an institution that outlives its creators.

I know, it's only rock n' roll but I like it.

The one that surprise me is that Ozzy is still in good shape. He is really in a pact with the devil ? :p

A lot of kids dont know AC/DC... they know KK and all those ones tho.

What a shame at only 61.

We used to listen to AC/DC all the time...my buddy had an old nova with "Hells Bells" painted on the hood.

Listen to "quick reaction" it's definitely a precursor to AC/DC

Also boogaloin is for wooin although it's a b-side to natural man.

I can probably rip it off my 7" if there's interest.
