i know dura ace made a 28 hole rear hub.did they make it model series 7800?if so how hard are they to find?

It was replaced fairly quickly with the 7850 that has the titanium free hub similar to the 7700 that would accept non-DA cassettes

would suggest they were made. I think finding one would be a waiting game.

7700 (9sp) and 7800 (10 only), 7850 (8/9/10), and 7900 were available in 24, 28, 32, and 36 drillings. Think I have a 28h rear somewhere.

Don't forget 7801..running change to 7800, DA 10s only and not compatible with 7800, parts wise.

New 9k stuff is drilled 24/28/32/36 in the back too.
Ultegra? 32/36 and that's it. I have a few pairs of 28/32 wheelsets I need to swap hubs on on. Grrrr

so it would be best to search for 7850 28 hole which would be more flexible when it comes to cassettes.well i guess the search is now on!!
