Hey guys I'm thinking about buying a new (steel) bike and Mosaic bikes are on my radar but I haven't had a chance to ride one. I was wondering - does anyone have first hand experience with these bikes/frames. Thoughts, comments about the bike.

Thanks,
Joe

No experience, no idea on pricing or lead times etc., but everything they are turning out these days just looks 100% spot on.

I saw some of their stuff up close at NAHBS. Haven't ridden it so can't speak to their ride quality, etc.

But the bikes themselves were pretty immaculate with some really nice finish details. If they ride half as good as they look...

RedRider we spoke last week about Mosaic and a few other builders. Thank you for your insight and taking time out of your day to talk. I'm trying to get a perspective from someone who owns a Mosaic to see what they think. BTW thanks for the pics of the Bedford - the man does amazing work.

Thanks,
Joe

I don't have a Mosaic, but the fitter at Retul in Boulder rides for their Cross team. Hit up Garrett Getter (his contact info is on retul.com), since he has ridden a couple different versions of their bikes.

I have owned 3 Mosaics, all previously belonging to Aaron Barcheck (owner, head builder, all around nice guy).

I have a steel SSCX frame that I used for commuting for about 18 mo. before it was stolen off my porch...then recovered 3 months later painted red with a stuck seat post...still waiting to take care of that project. It is a fantastic riding frame, best commuter I ever owned.

I also owned and currently own 2 different Ti road frames. The first I sold (https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/402474_363359230347351_1718821283_n.jpg) to another forum member here (name escapes me) a little while back to fund the purchase of the one I currently own:

Both were/are the best riding Ti frames I have ever thrown a leg over.

Bottom line: from a quality-of-product standpoint, Mosaic is easily up there with all the big names in the industry. Aaron is a super nice guy and has some equally awesome folks working with/for him, so I am sure the order process would be smooth and hiccup free.

So yea, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Thanks eBAUMANN and everyone for your input. It has been helpful. Right now Mosaic is on my shortlist. Now it's time to raise some funds. Thanks
