Hey, I have a line on a bike in NYC. Seller wants to do local purchase only. Anyone here can help me out. I would need help with pickup and shipping.

It is alot to ask, but I would obviously compensate for all expense and then work something out to compensate for your troubles.

It's not likely that a Manhattan resident could drive over in his station wagon and pick it up. :)

I actually am a Manhattan resident with a station wagon who could theoretically do that, but it really depends where / when.

Wow! When I lived in Queens in the Dark Ages I was the only person in my circle of 30 friends in Manhattan who had a car and that was because it was a company perk with all expenses paid by my employer. Hmmm, now that I think about my car may have been the only reason they allowed me to hang with them. It was often full for get-out-of-town adventures. :)

Just find a good local bike shop to do it for you I have done that before
worked fine Let us know were bicycle is and we can find a good shop for you

First I am trying to talk the seller into taking into a local shop to ship.

If that doesn't work, I will find out exactly where they live and see if I can't work out some other arrangement, perhaps with someone here.

If this forum doesn't work out, this sounds like something that you can use the services of a company, TaskRabbit, to do?
