I picked up some latex tubes and didn't realize that they are spec'd for 700 x 22-23mm tires. Any practical knowledge that this would pose a problem if I ran them with my Grand Bois Cerf 26 tires?

Thanks!

Should be fine. My big pile of road tubes has everything from 19 to 25, and the only thing I ever really pay attention to is valve stem length.

Just check pressure before every ride because latex tubes leak a bit more and stretching any tube beyond its "normal" size makes it thinner and therefore a bit leakier so you will be losing air a bit faster two ways.

their is a noticeable difference in the size and amount of rubber used in a larger tube than a 23mm. that 23mm is working a lot more to fill the space in a 33mm tire. a pal of mine was riding 23's in 33's and double flatted in a pothole, two unpatchable blow outs.

were the tubes to blame? maybe.

in a pinch i'd use whatever possible, but why not just do it right if you can. spend the extra $10 and buy the right tubes.

for OP i htink you're OK from 23 to 27.

Using a high quality thin tube only means that the air will leak out faster through the thin tube that is stretched.
