In a couple weeks a group of us are headed to Bass Lake for the weekend. The group would like to do a 60 - 80 mile ride, some climbing fine just don’t want to spend the whole day climbing. Anyone have experience riding in this area? I found this route can’t tell if it’s a pave route or not - http://www.mapmyride.com/us/oakhurst-ca/reverse-grizzly-route-40982002 Appreciate any help, thanks.

Grizzly Century happens Oct 4. Those routes could be in your ballpark:

Thanks, that should get me started in my research. Also that's serious climbing in that area.

Grizzly is a terrific ride. Be aware the area just suffered a pretty big wildfire.

I think the water level in Bass Lake varies a lot at different times of the year. You might want to check to see how much "Lake" there will be during your visit if that matters to you.

I did some riding out of nearby Huntington Lake area
Left the lake on the north side. dropped down from dam to a lower dam than climbed out. It was fun but a lot of climbing to get back were I started.
Roads were paved but old paving in somewhat decent shape. all the major roads are paved Expect a lot of elevation gain and loss
Weather in Oct. should be great
