Can I use a 6600 crankset with 6800 drivetrain?

basically asking if 10sp cranks work with 11sp drivetrain. in my experience, yes. nothing other than the chain will know, and mine couldn't care less. have at it.

Yup, this will work. Maybe the tiniest little bit of chain rub on teh FD cage at teh extremes, but otherwise no issues.

I'm using a CX-70 crankset with a 6800 drive train and it works but there's some rubbing. It's noisy when you get close to cross-chaining but otherwise works fine.

Ask that question on the S-Tec forum and you'll get 'the sky is going to fall if you run a 10sp crank on an 11sp system!'

...because that's the company line.

AFAI can tell, it works just great. Go for it!

I'm even running a 6800 chain. No problem.

With the positional nature of the shimano shifter/fder and with chainrings a little farther apart on a 10s crank, 'may' get some chain to fder rub at highest or lowest gear.
