Ok, Guys and Gals,
There have been many pictures of naked Kirk's posted lately including mine.
Considering Joe Bell has been busy painting bikes for the Handmade show and is a bit backlogged, I'm wondering how many new Kirk owners have bikes out for paint besides mine?

Good post, I was wondering the same thing.

Mine is at Joe's waiting to be painted. I'm here with a box of parts...waiting...waiting.

I don't see mine. Considering the inventory, maybe I can pick out a different one.

I think that champagne one in the top photo is my Sachs!

The date on the photo looks just about right.

Mine is the orange one on the top right in the first photo. 2/16 -- hmmm. I just got it yesterday. It spent about 4 months at JB's.

Now I'm trying to find those effin stem bolts so I can finish the build. I guess it's off to the bike shop for me this morning. By the time I'm finished w/the build (hopefully this afternoon), it will likely be snowing here. :crap:

They look close to the same size, too. Maybe we can trade every now and then since we're neighbors.

Let's hope they didn't get up to anything when the lights were off,
I don't want to have the weight gain, but then again, the pups would
likely been pretty sweet !

Tailwinds, that's a great color. Will you post some pictures of the build when you're done. My girlfriend is getting a Kirk, I hope things at JB's have settled down by then -- 4 months! And she thought finding a color would be hard...

Don't see mine in there. Does JB call before he starts to paint? I gave an indication of what I wanted, but I'm hoping I get a chance to see the options before I fully commit...

Aminadab, some bikes live at JB's a couple of weeks while others live there a long time. This (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=10299&highlight=Kirk+Terraplane) was my first Kirk that got destroyed by a car. Same color...

Sam, I'd call JB if I were you just to be sure.

it's the terraplane with the track dropouts .

I talked to Joe on Friday evening, frame is all prepped and goes to paint on Monday.

He said he was digging out from the show.

I thought that was what I was seeing (last pic. about 3/4 of the way down the row). Len, what is the intended build up and use for the bike?

Second photo, top row, second from left -

Who does curved brake bridges like that? J.P. Weigle? But I thought he did his own paint. Any other possibilities? I like it.

I live on the Eastern Shore of MD....flat, flat flat. I currently have a Gunnar Street dog fixie that I use for most of my winter riding as well as many of my training rides. I can put fenders on it and tires up to 28's.

The Gunnar is a little harsh for the kind of riding I do, long (over 3 hour) rides including centuries.......so I wanted something a little more supple. I also wanted to treat myself. The Kirk Terraplane was my answer. It will have Canti brakes (I waffled between canti's and centerpull) be able to handle tires up to 35's as well as fenders for bad weather (I only can ride on the weekend as I travel all week, so I ride in anything) and a rear rack for light touring.

Here is a link for pictures of the bare frame.

A few weeks of waiting left.
