Hi I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce my self. Looks like a great resource.

Just wondering if you guys have suggestions on a high quality Iphone holder. Currently with an i phone 4s but moving up to a 6 soon. I understand that not much will be out there for the 6, yet.

thanks in advance.

What are you mounting this new iPhone onto? Handlebars? Car mount?

Pannier maybe? LOL

He said 6, not 6+

all jokes aside, my 5s is much larger than I would want on my handlebars. I keep it in my pocket.

I have a 5 and have used a life proof case and holder. It worked and I never had problems.
That said I keep my phone in my pocket now, the mount can mark up the bars/stem where it attaches and I didn't want too mess parts up.

Have you done any battery life benchmarking or made accommodations for longer rides?

Can't speak to their iPhone 6 version but I had the one for the 4 and now the 5s. It's not the cheapest option out there but works great, is rock solid and very well made.
I really like the concept of the universal connector and the separate case since I can use their car mount for travel.
The case for the iPhone 4 sucked to the point where I only used it for riding, the 5/5s version is great though; I use it as my everyday case.
I have the mount on all my bikes.

If using the phone in GPS mode, I'd recommend some brand of battery extender-- GPS eats the battery life of the iPhone. I was all set to purchase a Mophie for my iPhone 5, but then discovered that the earbud plug requires an adapter to work with the Mophie battery/cover attached. This is a showstopper for me, as I'm a bit of a podcast junkie when riding alone and the adapter gets poor reviews. Anyhoo, several handlebar mounts have an integrated battery which, IMHO, is a necessity if you plan to use a GPS app (Strava, Map My Ride, etc) while riding.

yes still waiting for the mophie versions for iphone 6.

I am new to riding road bikes. So new I am still searching for a used one to purchase. I have been doing a lot of commuting on an old mountain bike.

My experience with battery times is to the extent of doing a lot of hiking with my kids and even on a short 2 hour hike the battery usually does not last on my phone once we get into the woods.

Thanks so much for any information give so far.
