World Championship Team Time Trial question

I watched the WC men's TTT and noticed that several teams had a rider with a different colored helmet. I was curious if this had any significance or not?

Most likely the rider wearing it is the national champion from whatever country said rider is from. They'll get matching helmets for their national champion skinsuit.

Makes sense. I was wondering if maybe they were using the different colored helmet as some way to keep track of the ordering in the rotation.

Were they not just wearing their normal team helmets? That's what they're wearing today for the ITT...
