View Full Version : Changing fork length - how does it impact handling?

I've been toying with the idea of putting a new fork on my CAAD9 in order to get a bit rake / less trail. (I'm currently running 43 or 44 rake, for 65mm trail, and I'd like to get closer to 60mm of trail.) The go-to fork seems to be Enve, but the length is about 5mm less than what I have on there now. I'm currently running an Alpha Q, which has the same length as a stock CAAD fork.

If I drop the front end down 5mm, where do I need to compensate for that? Seems like it will effectively change the HTA.

Will I even notice 5mm?

No - you won't notice 5mm atmo.
