Is it possible to convert a road DT 240s hub from 130mm to 135mm. A forumite has a 650B wheelset but it is 130mm.

DT does not show a conversion kit, but thought I would ask.

Thanks,

Jeff

Just replace the left hand end cap and re-dish the wheel to suit. Hub shell, axle, etc are identical regardless of OLD and freehub type.

See http://www.dtswiss.com/Resources/Support/HUBS/DT-Swiss-Hubs-240s-Technical-Manual

Part number is HWAXXX00S1528S (item 1 on page 9 of above)

you probably don't even have to redish, i've done it a few times without any real penalty :)

They make a conversion 'kit' both axle ends and no re dish required. Go see a decent LBS that speaks DT.

Go see a decent LBS that speaks DT.

If that existed I would.

It is almost 40 mi. to the closest shop and if it is not Trek, Specialized etc. they are lost.

Order away. It's an easy install.

Easy peasy. Here's what you want, part # 42748-99032 here (https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=42748)

Done it several times moving a wheel between bikes with 135 & 130 mm dropouts, takes all of 5 minutes, no re-dish required.

OK,

Now that I have the correct piece, how do you get the old one off. From the DT site it appears that it just presses on.

HELP!

Pops off. Not threaded. If the cassette end pops off easier you can run an allen wrench through the axle to knock it out on the other end.
