The video is very silly; don't bother to watch it. The concept is mechanically cool, even if the benefits are dubious.

This design gas been around in single speed applications. It makes sense in trials and bmx where its common to ride backwards.

Not seeing a huge benefit elsewhere. The biggest may be with folders and mini velos. There may be a small benefit in being able to spin the wheel independant of the crankset while packing or pushing the bike through a tight area (train, elevator, office)
