Getting a new bike (Trek Domane 6.9 with disc brakes) and looking to upgrade the wheels. The disc brakes will resolve any issues with the braking on the carbon surface. I have a recomendation to use Zipp 202's. Any experience or comments will be appreciated.

Yes, 202's or 303's if you want carbon. Good rec's.

I've had my Enve 3.4's for about a year and ~10k or so, and have no complaints that are not braking related...

All of the above mentioned wheels are very good quality from good manufacturers. The only thing I could suggest is that you select the wheel model to "dial in" the ride you want. I'm guessing that you chose the Domane for the more plush ride than the Madone. Wheels and tires can either enhance or change that. Have fun...

^^ This. The "right" wheels will depend largely on what you want from them and from the bike. I'd make a list of ride characteristics you want out of the bike, then update this thread. You may get the same recommendations, but maybe not.

Velo magazine just had an interesting comparison article on carbon clinchers, you might want to check it out. The Zipp 303 won overall, although they said the hubs were of indifferent quality (they were the only ones to have issues during the test period). As stated above the wheels all had differing characters and the winner might or might not be the winner for you.

With DT hubs....'best' IMHO. Exact specs depend on what you want the things to do for you.

Zipp is interesting. They seem to spend a lot of time and money on R/D but their hubs remain at the lower end of reliability. Even Velocity/Miche seemed to be better hubs...

someone like wheelbuilder.com can do zipp or reynolds rims with other hubs if you like.

check my friends wheel company...mostly asian and euro sales but they are IMO top notch wheels at a better price than most the big names in the states.

wide rims, dt hubs, etc

i'm about to start beating up on some China-sourced tubular rims and disc hubs. ordered them direct from the "manufacturer" (maybe?) and had a local guy lace 'em up with Sapim Lazers. tires go on tonight, possibly racing them this weekend.

they're 70g lighter than the 303 FC tubular disc. we'll see how it goes.

A Trek calls for Williams hoops (not knocking either)

Thanks all for your comments - FYI - I ended up going to wheelbuilder.com and ordering a set of wheels with Zipp 202 rims, White Industries hubs, bladed spokes and brass nipples. Looks like the best of all worlds. Can't wait to get them and the new bike.

Sounds like a great build! Definitely an upgrade, but still very practical.

I'm planning on ordering a pair of Zipp 303 from Wheelbuilders.com with Swiss DT240 straight pull hubs.
