I hear he's been taking it pretty chill since the Tour (and since signing with TS). And looking at this picture from a sprint finish at the Vuelta (not sure which one), he looks a little too relaxed to be racing. Everyone else is grimacing from the effort, and he looks like he is pulling into the cafe for a coffee.

He is training for the world champs. Same with Boonen, Cancellara. So yes, he is probably sandbagging it, getting training in and not taking extraordinary risks.

Agreed. Winning a points jersey at the Vuelta or Giro are not held in the same regard as the green jersey he won in Paris, so I think he's using this as training for the Worlds.

I wish I could sandbag it and still take third in a grand tour sprint like Sagan.

I like the world's course this year. Should be an exciting race, but Sagan is not one that I'll be cheering for.

The vuelta is different than the tour, in the vuelta all the top 10 needs to go and fight for the time bonifications all the time. Thats why generally in the vuelta the winner at least got top 5 in almost all of the tough stages all the time.

As for sagan, well... worlds, non sense to risk an accident and besides that... he has a new team now...
