looking for a referral to someone to whom i can ship 3-4 aluminum stems to have clear anodized. i've prepped and polished them and now i'd like them anodized to "lock in" and protect the finish.

I have been wondering about this as well, even thought about maybe learning how to anodize stuff myself.

I suppose DIY clearcoat wouldn't be tough enough?

maybe a local shop?
i've googled it before and there's a handful of anodizing shops around me that do lots of small jobs. bicycle, motorcycle, boat, and car parts are all mentioned on their sites. pricing didn't seem crazy either.

got some references.

also, in addition to anodization, electroless nickel plating was recommended as offering even greater durability and compatibility with polished finishes.

so we'll see where i end up.

the anodization shop has a $100 minimum, and for that you could do a handful of small items like stems or seatposts.

i've prepped and polished them and now i'd like them ...

How much to anodize these parts?

If I do all the work, it's $100. If you prep and polish it first, it's $200. :D
