Howdy
I've got hundreds of dollars worth of saddles that I don't use and haven't sold because they've got scuffs or even minor tears along the edges... seems like at least the ones that aren't torn ought to be touch-up able. I know car seat leather can be repaired, and car seat kits can be had for about the cost of a new saddle... that's obviously not economical.
What solutions exist for touching up saddles? Anybody done it successfully/economically?
Thanks

if it is not a high wear area of the saddle, i've covered "bruises" with liquid electrical tape, which can be bought at any hardware store in multiple colors. basically a liquid rubber coating. wont work on high wear areas, as it will eventually rub off, but fine for cosmetic fixes.

These cheap 3M "upholstery repair" kits are ready available at any Autozone, Oreilly's, Pep Boys, etc.:

Not the finest repair…but it will seal the hole/scuff and prevent further tearing.

Scuffed saddles will sell at a discount but it's probably more economical to take this hit vs trying to fix. I actually was surprised how high some do go on ebay.
I recently bought a scuffed slr here. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse but if it does, it I may try it bare or get it recovered by that guy way up ^there^

Don't over think it. A Sharpie will cover the scuff.
If it's torn, that's another story. A small tear I can open up and glue back down. You will still be able to see a scar but I can make it stable again.
