I'm out of the loop. I see that there are new chain tools for shimano 11sp. Are they necessary to install one? Or can I use the good old park ct3.2 and drive the pin in carefully? The installation instructions don't seem to be any different comparing to shimano 10.

The only reason to a special 11sp chain tool for campy is because of the peening right?

i installed the pin into my 9000 chain with the ct3, not even the 3.2

so yeah, should work fine. but really, no reason not to just use a quick link.

Anyone knows that how long the chain needed to be if using 50 34 chainring?

Methods regarding the ways to size chains are here at the Park Tool site: http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/chain-length-sizing

New tool not required and make sure name on chain in outboard and then same as 10s chain.

Yup, peening pin on Campag but other tools do this, Park and Pedro's to name 2.

Thank you all. Installed one last night, same as the old chains, easy.

Can a Campy missing link be used on a Shimano 11sp chain?

Campy does not have missing links. They use a pin. Maybe you meant KMC or IRD?

I meant a KMC missing link for Campy 11.

All 11s quick links, IRD, KMC, and chains same dimension....what I think ya meant. No 'Campag' or shimano quick links

That's exactly what I meant. I have seen them advertised as Campy 11 speed missing links because there was no Shimano 11 at the time. So they will work ok with Shimano 11? I'm so used to using them that I don't want to change. Old fart and all.

Thanks, old fart. I am slowly assembling my 11 speed Di2 kit.
