I've been working and not riding this year so I drove a wheel truck at the RR today. I watched the pack get whittled down, and down, and down. 7 left standing. 4 from 1 team, 2 from another, and a lone cowboy. The lone rider repeatedly attacked the others, multiple times, he was responsible for most of the attacks in the race. They tried sending someone up with him to sit on, hanging him out to dry, you name it. They beat him in the sprint but he took it to them, even made them earn the sprint. It takes a big motor to do that. Talking to him later, found out his Dad was an Eastern European pro I raced against 25 years ago. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.
