Has anyone heard a release date for these? All I have been able to find is August. I have new cross frame that is waiting to get build up. :)

Don't know but I'm in the same boat. I have a bike targeted and as soon as they announce availability with the Shimano hydraulic brakes it goes on order.

I am debating trying to find a used set of hy/rd until these are out.
Cross is coming.

I debated the same thing. Then I got TRP Spyres and they work very nicely with one requirement: compressionless housing. I wouldn't spend the money on the hy/rd brake.

I'm also looking at the new Shimano system when it comes out but in the meantime my Spyres have been pretty nice.

The RS685's are killer! Looking to build something up with them; though for me it will probably be next season.

End of September looks to be a more realistic ETA for these now.
