View Full Version : Is there, will there be such a thing? Long reach brake like 6800, 9000

I really dig the 6800 brakes but wished they came in a long reach version.

Running some cheap shimano long reach brakes that are alright, but would like to see if there is or if there will be a brake in symmetrical 68/9k style. There's new 105 stuff out soon... but the brakes look to be standard reach.

I would prefer not to go the Tektro/TRP route (or VO) as I'd like to just keep the shimano brakes in that case, since they're fine as is - I just crave the good feel of the 6800 stuff.

If you do a search here for long reach in the classifieds, someone linked some brake pad holders that can increase the reach of your short reach brakes. It's a great idea for keeping matching calipers.

Rad but expensive. Looks like a viable option, I'll think about it though I might just keep the cheapo shimano ones for now if I don't. Thanks!
